Joseph Marlin graduated from DeSales University with degrees in Computer Science and Math. He enjoys playing at the intersections of science, theology, philosophy, and politics. In his spare time, he runs a charity which helps gardeners donate produce to the hungry, serves as a volunteer firefighter, and attempts to keep the peace between his two cats, Lemur and Lizard.
2019 was very busy for our firefighters. Below are some statistics for the year:
A total of 349 calls that included: 65 Automatic Alarms 24 Odor/Smoke/CO Investigations 34 Dwelling/Structure Fires 120 Motor Vehicle Accidents 26 Vehicle Fires 15 EMS Assists 19 Brush Fires
Our members spent 2,400 hours training throughout the year and 1,160 hours responding to calls. These numbers do not include the various Saucon Valley Sporting events, Easter Bunny escort, Community Day, National Night Out, The Annual Carnival, Fire Prevention programs, Spirit Parade, Santa Run, Light-Up Night and Monthly Company Meetings and other duties around the station.
Thank you to all of our members for their time and dedication and of course to their families for their support!
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Dewey Family, stop down and join – we would love to have you! As you can see, there are many more things that you can help out with if you prefer not to respond to emergency calls.
